Special OfferParent's Guide to Kung Fu for Kids

Unlike sports based on team play, Kung Fu is an individual activity in which the student is responsible for his or her achievements. Personal drive, commitment and hard work are the qualities we foster in class. Students learn early that success and failure are their own responsibility. This is a lesson that will serve them well throughout their lives.

Since Kung Fu is a martial art, training requires and helps nurture self-assurance. Students are required to focus and concentrate and must learn to be quick not only with their techniques but with their thinking.

Little Dragons (Ages 6-9)

Each age group progresses and learns best when training is specific and directed to that age group. The Little Dragons Class is geared for children Ages 6-9 and focuses on development of motor skills, concentration, poise and coordination while learning fundamental martial arts skills.

Young Tigers (Ages 10-12)

The Young Tigers Class is designed for older children between the ages of 10-12 years old. While instruction is still geared at developing physical and mental attributes; training is more challenging and diverse. In this class more focus is placed on developing agility, strength and endurance but with careful attention to building a sound martial arts foundation.

The Kung Fu Experience: A lifetime of benefits for your child

Kung Fu training opens the door to an exciting martial arts program that will provide leadership skills, a winning attitude and the inner strength to overcome adverse peer pressure. Your child will develop the “Yes I Can” attitude that will benefit him or her not only for the present but for many years to come.

Your child will:

  • Build strength
  • Improve flexibility
  • Develop sharp reflexes
  • Build cardiovascular fitness
  • Develop coordination
  • Gain self-confidence
  • Build self-esteem

The Instructors

Garett Lubecki

Garett Lubecki has been training with Master Scrima for over 8 years. He is an accomplished Black Belt and winner of numerous National and World Titles. In 2010 he was voted into the Inside Kung-Fu magazine "Hall of Fame" as Competitor of the Year; the youngest athlete to garner this award. He is a consummate technician and dedicated student of the art who also excels in academics.

Eric Anderson

Eric Anderson has been training with Master Scrima for over 6 years and was awarded his Black Belt in October of 2011. Eric is also a veteran competitor who has been especially successful in Sparring Competition winning both National and International Titles in his age group. Eric is just as committed to developing his martial arts as in pursuing his academics.

Both Garett and Eric continue to practice under the guidance of Master Scrima and receive tutelage and close supervision in refining their martial arts skills and teaching craft.

They are enthusiastic, dedicated and committed to helping other kids excel both in martial arts and in life.

Confucius said, "Do not enlighten those who are not eager to learn, nor advise those who are not anxious to give an explanation themselves. If I have presented one corner of the square and they cannot come back to me with the other three, I should not go over the points again."
